About Sowers

Sowing opportunities. Growing futures.

The name isn't decoration. Sowing is patient work with a delayed return — a fair description of doing recruitment properly.

Why we exist

Recruitment isn’t badly run because recruiters are bad people

It’s badly run because the incentives are wrong. Fees are paid on placement, so filling the vacancy is what gets optimised — and the candidate quietly becomes the means to it rather than the point of it.

You can see the consequences from the outside. Adverts for roles that were filled weeks ago, kept live to harvest CVs. Salary ranges written as “competitive” because publishing the real one would cost a response. Applications that vanish, because a rejection takes four minutes nobody is paid for. None of that is anyone being wicked. It is what happens when the only thing measured is how many vacancies got filled this month.

Sowers was started to work the other way round: to be paid for placing people well rather than quickly, and to accept the lower volume that comes with it.

So the constraints are deliberate. One named consultant owns your search from first call to first day, which caps how many people we can look after at once. Every advert carries a real salary, which means we turn down clients who won’t publish one. Everybody gets an answer inside 48 hours, including a no with the reason attached. Each of those costs us something, and that is precisely why they are worth putting in writing — a promise that costs nothing to keep tells you nothing about who is making it.

What we hold to

Four things, non-negotiable

1

Tell the truth, especially when it costs us

If a role isn't right, we say so — even where staying quiet would earn us a fee.

2

One consultant, not a relay

The person who takes your call is the person who runs your search.

3

Answer everyone

Every application gets a reply in 48 hours, including a no. Being ignored is the industry's most common complaint and entirely avoidable.

4

The candidate is not the product

You're who we work for, not inventory we're selling. Your CV moves when you say it moves.

How it works

What happens after you send your CV

  1. 1About 30 seconds

    Send your CV

Three fields and a file. No account, no password, no portal.

  2. 2Within 48 hours

    A person reads it

Not a keyword filter. You get an answer either way, including no.

  3. 3You stay in control

    We talk first

Nothing goes to an employer until you approve that specific role.

  4. 4Past day one

    Interview and beyond

Panel names, format, likely questions. We check in after you start.

Who you’ll speak to

One consultant, and you will know their name

We are deliberately small. That is not an apology — it is the reason the promises on this site are keepable. The person who picks up when you call is the person who reads your CV, briefs the client and tells you what they said. Nothing is handed to a resourcing team you never speak to.

Call the main line and you will get a consultant, not a switchboard, and you will have their direct number before the conversation ends.

Come and talk to us

Describe the role you want, or just call and ask a question. Both get an answer.
